When you book a room, you'll see a one-time move-in fee that covers the cost of cleaning and getting the room ready for you. Here's the good part: you're in control of how you pay it. PadSplit gives you the flexibility to pay it in full or spread it out over a few weeks, whatever works best for your budget.
Your payment options
At booking, you can choose to pay your move-in fee:
- In full, upfront: charged with your first bill when you book, no extra cost
- Over a 4-week installment plan: total fee + $12
- Over an 8-week installment plan: total fee + $40
The $12 or $40 is a flat cost that stays the same no matter how large your move-in fee is.
How the cost breaks down
Your installment amount is spread evenly across your weekly dues payments until it's paid off.
For example, if your move-in fee is $105:
- Pay in full: $105.00 = no extra cost
- Pay over 4 weeks: $105.00 + $12.00 = $117.00 total ā $29.25/week. You're charged $29.25 today at booking, then $29.25 is added to each of your next 3 dues payments.
- Pay over 8 weeks: $105.00 + $39.96 = $144.96 total ā $18.12/week. You're charged $18.12 today at booking, then $18.12 is added to each of your next 7 dues payments.
When you'll see the charge
- If you pay upfront, the full fee is charged with your first bill at booking.
- If you choose an installment plan, it's charged progressively, with a portion added to each billing cycle until the full amount (plus the flat installment cost) is paid off.
What to Expect with Payments
- You choose your payment option during booking, before your move-in day.
- Installment costs are fixed fees, not interest that grows with your balance.
- If you carry any balance past 11:59 PM EST on your Dues Day, including a balance on an installment payment, a late charge applies. See Why is there a $25 charge after my due date? for more details.
- If you transfer to another PadSplit home while still on an installment plan, all remaining installments from your current room are billed in full at the time of transfer.
