Enhanced Screening was a per-property setting that allowed hosts to apply additional screening criteria to prospective members. As of June 30, 2026, this feature is no longer available.
Why is Enhanced Screening being removed:
Over the years, we have continuously strengthened our core screening process — incorporating additional risk signals, fraud detection, and quality indicators directly into our standard membership approval flow. As a result, Enhanced Screening had become largely redundant.
The new Pre-Approved Bookings feature provides a more powerful and transparent quality filter. Rather than a single score threshold, it evaluates members across 9 data points — including member ratings, eviction history, ID verification, and risk models — providing a much richer signal of member quality. If you previously had Enhanced Screening enabled on any of your properties, we encourage you to explore Pre-Approved Bookings as a direct, and more impactful replacement.
What this means for you:
- If you previously had Enhanced Screening enabled on any of your properties, that restriction has been removed. All members who meet PadSplit's standard membership criteria can now view and book your properties.
- PadSplit's baseline approval standards have not changed.
What replaces it:
Pre-Approved Bookings gives hosts a richer quality filter — evaluating members across 9 data points including member ratings, eviction history, ID verification, and risk signals. Properties with Pre-Approved Bookings enabled also tend to fill faster.
To set up Pre-Approved Bookings, navigate to the Manage Tab > Properties > Booking Settings in your Host dashboard.
